December 28 2011: SBS Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (SBS) launched the high performance and rugged tablets SPC-1005B powered by the new Intel® Atom™ processor N2600. Featuring high performance and low power consumption, the system is with rugged design to fulfill given tasks even in rigorous natural conditions, therefore eligible to meet application demands of security surveillance, electric power, industrial automation, rail transit etc. SBS SPC-1005B family will be officially marketed worldwide starting in Q1 of 2012.

SBS SPC-1005B utilizes Intel® Atom™ processor N2600 at 1.6GHz and supports up to 1080p Video decode & HDMI, up to 2GB DDR3 1066 memory, SATA SSD, WiFi, Bluetooth, PCIe extension, etc. Utilizing the CPU intense usage at 3.5W TDP of the Intel® Atom™ processor N2600, the whole system power consumption is less than 8 watts. The ultra low power consumption enables longer battery life and the system can continuously operate for 12 hours without any external power connection.
The SPC-1005B family delivers super-illuminated display screen (10.4”), provides multi-touch support, extended operating temperature (-40℃~+85℃) and rugged fan-less designs against harsh environment. All these enable SPC-1005B family to meet different application requirements and make them an ideal choice of ultra-small intelligent terminal devices for industrial applications. The SPC-1005B family is offered with 7 years embedded lifecycle support.
